As tension mounts, Repsol-YPF head arrives to meet gov’t officials

Chairman of Repsol-YPF oil company Antonio Brufau, has arrived to Argentina to attend a round of meetings amidst the present tensions between the company and the Government triggered after President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner accused the oil giant of not making enough investments in the country.
It was Repsol-YPF’s CFO Miguel Martínez who confirmed the visit of Brufau to the country after acknowledging the results for the fourth quarter.
Today’s going to be Brufau’s third visit to the country within the past weeks as the pressure mounted by the Argentine government has gone up while YPF’s shares have edged down lately.
Brufau had already met with Economy Minister Javier Lorenzino and Planning Minister Juilio De Vido by mid February, and attended YPF’s board members meeting last week.
