Missing youngster Lucas Menghini Rey was found dead at the fourth carriage of the train fifty-five hours after the tragic crash at the Once train station that left 51 dead and 703 injured.
A body was found Friday afternoon at the fourth carriage of the train. Although it was not immediately announced it was the body of Menghini Rey, it was confirmed after the autopsy by the Judicial Mortuary.
Menghini Rey’s parents watched during the morning the station’s tapes and saw their son as he got on the fourth carriage of the train at the San Antonio de Padua station.
The body was removed and taken to the morgue in a stretcher by the police and SAME medical emergency assistance service staff. «We found a body, but don’t know who he is,» a spokesman of the police said.
«The body was found at the fourth carriage,» he continued and added that the force had received the order to look «in the most implausible places» of the train after Security Minister Nilda Garré announced that the board was in charge of the youngster’s search.
Sources said that a backpack was found next to the corpse with Lucas Menghini Rey’s belongings.
The victim’s mother, María Luján, had told the press that a witness had told her that he saw Menghini Rey getting off the train «injured and shocked.»
The death toll of the tragic train crash rose to 51, while the injured reached 703.
