Emergency staff rescue the engine driver.
Marcos Córdoba, the engine driver of the train that crashed at Once station, was released after being questioned by Judge Claudio Bonadío. Nevertheless, the prosecutor of the case, Federico Delgado, did not agree with the decision and said the conditions are still not entirely given to release him.
In his statement before the Judge, the engine driver assured “I’ve tried to stop two times, but the mechanism failed.” Córdoba also added that “I warned my companions.”
Regarding the situation of the trains, Córdoba stated that he “did not know when they were going to fail.”
According to the union sources, the judge “considered there is no need for him to be detained and the case continues.”
Nevertheless, Delgado assured that there is still material to be investigated and was not willing to release Córdoba, who remained isolated until Friday.
