Construction costs climb 17.3% in 2011, Indec

Construction-related costs registered a 17.3 percent increase in 2011, after closing the last month of the year 1.2 percent higher, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The figure reported in December was a consequence of a 5.4 percent increase in the general expenditures sector, 1 percent in materials and 0.6 percent in workers, the government’s index stated.

The index had in 2011 an accumulated variation of 17.3 percent against the 21.5 percent of 2010.
