The mains suspect in the murder of the 12 -year-old Gastón Bustamante is not giving evidence today as it was announced by the local media this morning as the suspect arrived at Mar Del Plaza court today. Julián Ezequiel Ramón brother-in-law of Gastón Bustamante is the main suspect of murdering Gastón by asphyxiation in the Buenos Aires coastal city of Miramar.
The 24-year-old law student was transferred today to Mar del Plata Court to be heard by the case’s public prosecutor, but his lawyer Alejandro Borauski asked for a prorogation today. According to the attorney, he needed time get familiar to the case since he was just recently appointed for the suspect’s defense.
Ramón (24) was dating the victim’s sister and was detained yesterday as the main suspect on the murder case. According to the police, he might have killed Gastón during a robbery attempt to raise money to pay a 20.000 pesos personal debt.
Ramón spent the night in custody at a police station at Mar del Plata and was brought in for questioning this morning accompanied by his parents.
The suspect was dating Gastón´s sister Rocío Bustamante when the boy was murdered. Ramón has even participated on marches on the family’s behalf to bring attention to the case.
To the investigators the key to solving the murder mystery lies on a fingerprint found at the crime scene. Ramón’s fingerprint was found at a television that was set to be taken by the robber.
Borauski told local reporters Ramón is scheduled to give evidence tomorrow.
