Autopsy confirms Tomás received severe hit to his head

The first results of the autopsy carried out on the body of Tomás Santillán – the 9-year-old who was found dead yesterday evening in the outskirts of Lincoln – revealed that the child was received a severe blow to the head and that he was killed shortly after his disappearance last Tuesday.

The public prosecutor investigating the crime, Javier Ochoaizpuro, assured that Tomás “was killed immediately after disappearing,” confirmed by the autopsy carried out this morning.

The Judiciary ordered that the ex partner of Tomás’ mother – who is the principal suspect in the investigation- be detained by police.

During a television interview, Ochoaizpuro affirmed that the investigation of the murder “is being directed at the person that we have seized,” referring directly to the stepfather of Tomás, Ramón Adalberto Cuello, who will be further investigated today.

The autopsy was carried out at Junín Hospital and took place from 11 pm last night, until 4 am this morning, according to sources involved in the investigation.

The 9-year-old boy was last seen on Tuesday this week at around 12 pm midday. He was leaving school on route to his house, according to witnesses.

During a radio interview this morning, the Security Minister for Buenos Aires Province, Ricardo Casal, stated that “Tomás was brutally murder by two fatal hits.” Last night Casal described the crime as “savage” and “brutal” after the body was identified by the young boy’s parents, and then transferred to the morgue.
