‘It’s the worst tragedy in the history of San Luis,’ says Rodriguez Saá

Governor of San Luis province, Alberto Rodríguez Saá, spoke during a radio interview today to comment on the train accident which took place today in the area of Las Zanjitas, a town located fifty-five kilometers south of the province capital. He informed that there would be two days of mourning due to the incident, in which so far eight were reported dead.

“This is the worst tragedy in the history of San Luis. According to what I can remember, nothing as bad as this has ever happened, especially to a bus filled with young children. It’s dreadful,” stated the governor.

“I can’t provide any further details, the proper examinations will be carried out soon. The bus was dragged for over 300 metres,” a visibly distraught Rodríguez Saá explained.

Eight people involved in the accident are missing and being searched by medical emergency services, it was confirmed.

The San Luis Governor placed a personal call to the Santa María school’s headmistress to pay his condolences over the death of seven students and the deputy headmistress.
