President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner vowed to “maintain the current economic plan and correct distortions,” in a roomful of businessmen, union leaders, bankers, Government officials and Governors, while heading a dinner in celebration of Industry Day.
Fernández de Kirchner acknowledged businessmen’s investments but stressed that the country “needs more investment and” vowed to maintain the current economic policies. She began her speech by admitting that it was one of the rare times that she arrived somewhere and didn’t have to answer uncomfortable questions. She praised UIA head José Ignacio de Mendiguren’s speech, who spoke right before her and deemed it “non-corporative and collectively minded.”
The Head of State said she will “check whatever is needs to be checked to move forward. If there are distortions, we shall do the necessary amends. It is impossible not to make mistakes in the economic activity,” she concluded.
