‘I’m ok, I’m going to the courthouse’

97-year-old Carlos Fayt left his house in the Buenos Aires City neighbourhood of Recoleta heading to the courthouse. Amid growing controversy over his health condition, the Supreme Court justice told reporters that were waiting outside his home that he was “ok.”

Judicial sources said Fayt has already arrived in the building along with his assistants heading directly to the agreements hall.

Supreme Court president Ricardo Lorenzetti showed up at 10 to take part in what spokesmen of Argentina’s top tribunal called an “extraordinary agreement.”

The Cristina Fernández de Kirchner administration has questioned Fayt’s abilities to remain in his position pushing for an investigation into his health condition in the Lower House Impeachment Committee which was approved yesterday.
