Cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich accused opposition candidates of making “irresponsible (campaign) promises» that are impossible to honour. He accused them of “having double standards” and of being “frauds.”
The chief of ministers said that when opposition candidates promise to remove export retention taxes, income taxes and to reduce fiscal deficit they are “lying lightly” and he urged them to stop.
“On the one hand they say that they will effectively and efficiently run the state (…) they are the ones who encourage policies that would allegedly reduce the size of the state but at the same time they raise the ABL property tax,” he said in a not-so-veiled reference to Buenos Aires City mayor Mauricio Macri.
“This double-standard, this permanent lie has to stop,” he stressed.
