Economy Minister Axel Kicillof said that “employment is the government’s main obsession,” after the INDEC statistics bureau reported that unemployment rate climbed to 7.5% in the third quarter of the year.
Kicillof acknowledged “fluctuations in demand” but he stressed that there is no “catastrophe” in the country’s economic future.
“There are workers who seek wage increases, and that’s fine, but it speaks of an economy that is not in decline,” the official said in an interview with Del Plata radio.
“There is tension in the (…) the opposition that (claims) that the economy is in a terrible state, but still ask for a year-end bonus,” the minister added.
