A day after Argentina wrote into history its World Cup semi-final clash against the Netherlands, midfielder Lucas Biglia said making it to Sunday’s match involves “an inexplicable feeling” and showed confidence that “football gives revenge” as the Albiceleste will be facing its WC’s historic executioner: Germany.
“What we have accomplished is unique, it is an inexplicable sensation, we can not believe it,” Biglia told Argentina’s state-run news agency Télam today.
“Germany ousted us from the last two World Cup (finals) we reached but football gives revenge,” the 28-year-old player of Italy’s Lazzio affirmed ahead of Sunday’s clash against the Germans.
“Facing the Netherlands, we played a technical match, we did not want to leave any spaces because a minimum error kicks you out of the World Cup and we did it very good,” Lucas Biglia told reporters while analyzing Wednesday’s semi-final, praising Argentina’s “tactical level” and “defence order.”
“From a football perspective, we have grown a lot from the debut, every match is different and triumph in the final will depend on how we or them get up regardless how we bring up the game,” he added.
If football gives revenge as Biglia said today, Argentina could be lifting its third World Cup championship trophy in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracaná stadium on Sunday.
