The Argentina national team today return to the training ground in Belo Horizonte’s Cidade do Galo, focused on the final of the World Cup following a dramatic penalty shoot-out win to overcome the Netherlands.
In a session scheduled to begin at 4.30pm, the players will carry out light drills to recuperate following yesterday’s gruelling 120 minutes of football in Sao Paulo’s Corinthians Arena, which culminated in a shoot-out won 4-2 by the Albiceleste.
All eyes will be on Real Madrid winger Ángel Di Maria. The Rosario native suffered a muscular injury in his left leg during Saturday’s 1-0 win over Belgium, and Argentina’s coaching staff will evaluate his progress to determine if he will return to play a part in the final against Germany.
A press conference is programmed to take place with two players at the end of training.
