Lower House debates informal job market bill

Lawmakers were addressing a government-sponsored bill to tackle informal employment in a special Lower House session called by ruling party MPs.

Back in April, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced she was submitting the project to Congress seeking to reduce the number of unregistered workers. According to the INDEC statistics bureau, Argentina’s informal job market is home for three million who lack social security coverage.

The Victory Front caucus commanded by Juliana Di Tullio promoted the debate after the Senate passed the bill by the end of last month.

The Kirchnerite-sponsored project is expected to win an easy approval with the Radical Party and the Renewal Front opposition blocs supporting the initiative in general.
