Security Secretary Sergio Berni has renewed his criticism of the judiciary following yesterday’s picket at the General Paz Avenue that caused traffic nightmare at one of the main access roads to the City of Buenos Aires.
“Yesterday’s was atypical; besides dealing with the Contravention Justice we had to deal with pickets,” the official said accusing BA City judges of failing to protect private property. “Blocking a road is a crime because it is an illegal conduct. That who blocks a road has to go to prison,” Berni insisted.
The secretary’s statements come the same week that Congress began to debate on the regulation of social protests and pickets. In that sense, Berni agreed on the parliamentary debate but called to abide by the current existing legislation. “All we have to do is to apply the Penal Code,” he said and stepped up his criticism also of Buenos Aires City Mayor Mauricio Macri.
“He wants to be a candidate (for president) but can not solve a road block”.
