The US dollar was unchanged today at 7.82 pesos after the sharp drops of the last week as grain exporters liquidated 419.38 dollars, 74.7 per cent more than in the same period of last year.
Yesterday, the Central Bank snapped up 11.274 billion pesos for its LEBAC and NOBAC notes, accumulating a 29.522-billion-peso monetary contraction so far this year.
In the informal market, the so called “blue” dollar was 8 cents higher at 11.73 pesos after falling 50 cents on Monday. Analysts say the government-fueled relaxation of foreign exchange controls and the end of the holiday period are weakening the demand of greenbacks.
