Menem once more under investigation for Río Tercero attack

Former president and Senator Carlos Menem is under investigation again for his participation in the Military Factory Río Tercero cause that left 7 dead and few wounded back in November 1995, the judicial resources reported today.

Federal judge Carlos Ochoa indicted Menem after the Supreme Court annulled the ruling of the Federal Cassation Court regarding his involvement in the cause. Ochoa justified his decision with the lack of measures in the judicial investigation which were interpreted as not “viable” for “obtaining relative evidence of the possible responsibility of Menem”.

The Penal Economic Court condemned Menem, his former Defence Minister Oscar Camilión and alleged arm dealer Diego Palleros several weeks ago.
