A woman who said she was a neighbour of 16-year-old murder victim Ángeles Rawson, was charged with perjury after providing the investigators with false information.
Beatriz Nicolaza Fuentes said she lived in the same building Rawson’s family used to live, located on Ravignani 2360, and assured that she overheard a strong discussion in the victim’s apartment.
Justice and Human Rights Minister Julio Alak was the first to accuse her of perjury. The Government official asked the investigators to “investigate an attempt to obstruct the investigation in the murder case.”
“This move created in order to divert attention away from the investigation can lead to very serious charges, such as cover up,” Alak said.
The woman is from Caleta Olivia, Santa Cruz, and has been charged six times with fraud in the past.
Prosecutor Andrés Madrea pressed charges against Fuentes for lying during the investigation.
