While Augusts’ election campaign continues, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner attended a rally for the inauguration of a bicycle factory in Resistencia, Chaco.
The head of state pointed out the banks along with other financial entities, as the responsible for parallel dollar rises during the last week. “We know they will keep putted pitfalls on the way”, she declared.
However, Fernández de Kirchner explained one of the measures her administration took in order to keep economic stability. “A short time ago, from the Central Bank, we obligated the banks to reduce the interest rate to sustain the investments and the economic growth”.
In addition,she revealed that Argentina’s economy increased by 7,8% in May, compared to last year’s statistics, and anticipated the first five months of this year would reflect a growth equal to 4,9%.
The event took place at the López brothers Bike factory, with the participation of Chaco’s Governor and candidate for Senator Jorge Capitanich, and lawmaker Luis Aguilar among others.
Capitanich stated that his goal was “to show our President all the industrial development achieved with this macro economy strategy, which stimulates the imports restitution, promotes the strengthening of the internal market and aggregate demand”.
