Ironic Cristina ‘congratulates’ Argentines with Miami homes

CristinaPresident Cristina Kirchner kept her tongue firmly in cheek as she referred to the record number of property adquisitions by Argentines in the US, especially in the Miami area.

Speaking during an event on Tuesday to mark the reinauguration of the Gaumony cinema, the head of state requested a round of applause for those who had invested in United States real estate.

She also clarified that «I would prefer a house in Paris».

A real estate report made public this week revealed that Argentines had spent around $2 bn in buying Miami properties.

Kirchner also took time to heap praise on Victory Front candidates Daniel Filmus and Juan Cabandié, and called on the public to «take control once more of our cultural richness.»
