CFK says she’ll do anything to ‘democratize’ the three branches of government

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
During a rally she headed today in Rio Gallegos, the capital city of Santa Cruz province, president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner one more time defended a controversial judicial reform, recently passed in the Congress and signed into law, and said she will “deal with anything” to achieve the “democratization” of the three government branches.
“The judiciary’s democratization will surely bring some problems to me or the government, but I’m willing to deal with anything to leave a more organized country, and its three powers completely democratized and open to the people, independent from large corporations,” she went on.
The president stressed the “independence” of the Executive Branch from “large companies, from monopolies” and added: “This is the independence we want for us in all three powers.”
She questioned the judiciary has not yet ruled on the media law whereas there has been “celerity” to rule on dozens of injunctions filed against the judicial reform in the last weeks.
«Who has more power in Argentina? A judge or a president?,” she asked sarcastically.
