Radical Party (UCR) Deputy Ricardo Gil Lavedra bashed the national government upon its last minute plan of calling licensed deputy Martín Sabatella, currently head of the Federal Authority of Audiovisual Communication Services (AFSCA) to show up and muster quorum.
“If the government brings Sabatella to muster quorum, it would be a big stain for an administration that at this point shows no sense of shame.”
Gil Lavedra also stated that if the government’s plan is finally accomplished “We’ll be simply seeing how the Kircherism celebrates the illegality.”
Asked about the alleged pact celebrated between President Cristina Fernández and Supreme Court Chief Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti, denounced by Civic Coalition leader and Deputy Elisa Carrió during yesterday’s plenary session, the Radical deputy and former judge said,
“I still believe in our Supreme Court, hence I have to discard the existence of such a pact. Plus, I can’t imagine what would be the Supreme Court’s favor to the government in return for having it accepted the changes proposed [by the Board of presidents of the National and Federal Courts]. Would it be granting the government with favorable rulings? It doesn’t make any sense. If something like this would happen, then we’ll have no other option left than stopping trusting in our institutions.”
Likewise, Federal Peronism’s Deputy Eduardo Amadeo also referred to Sabatella’s possible inclusion upon his arrival to the Parliament.
“It’s totally outrageous. They are going against the Constitution”, Amadeo stated.
“President Cristina Fernández will be, once again, taking oath from Sabatella. Thus, the Head of State will be accomplice of a crime that Sabatella would be committing, plus pro-government deputies will be approving it.”
