Radical Party president Mario Barletta questioned former lawmaker Silvana Giudici’s decision of accepting a post within the City Government and warned that “it was a personal decision and has nothing to do with upcoming accords between both parties.”
“It’s Giudici’s personal decision and does not mean there will be future accords between the UCR and PRO parties,” Barletta added, as Guidici was sworn in as City’s Undersecretary of Strategic Planning.
He also dismissed the possibility of penalizing the former lawmaker, at least for the foreseeable future.
As Barletta explained, the Radical Party’s charter sets punishments and penalizes officials who run as candidates for other parties, like former Vice-president Julio Cobos did in 2007 when he run as candidate with Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
“The Charter refers to those who run as candidates for other parties, but does not mention cases such as this one. Either way, it does not affect us.”
Giudici was candidate for City Mayor in June 2011, and after she was defeated in the first round of voting, urged people to vote for Mauricio Macri, who was reelected.
