Rains cease in BA, more than 3,000 remain evacuated

Following yesterday’s flash flooding in Buenos Aires province and the capital city some 3,400 people were still unable to return to their homes due to the damage caused.

Luciano Timerman, the head of the board for emergencies in the province said today that 3400 people were evacuated, and weren’t yet able to return to their homes.

“The flooding has reduced, so we are hoping that throughout the day people can gradually start to return to their homes,” the official stated in a radio interview.

In La Matanza district, two thousand people remain evacuated, as Governor Daniel Scioli personally supervised the area.
