Media Law: Judge Tettamanti resigns

Judge Raúl Tettamanti, who had been designated as an interim judge to rule on claim by Grupo Clarín against article 161 of the Media Law resigned today.

Judicial sources reported that the judge resigned to the same court had called for him to act as temporary judge in court number 1, which must rule on a claim on «unconstitutional grounds» made by Grupo Clarín regarding article 161 of the Media Law.

Court number 1 is vacant and there is an ongoing process to designate a new judge led by the Magistrates Council but it has been stagnant due to differences between Kirchnerism and the opposition.

Tettamanti had been appointed as a interim judge despite the fact he had retired.
