Lagostena remanded for pregnant girlfriend’s murder

Murder suspect Daniel Lagostena.
A Lomas de Zamora judge declared today that Daniel Lagostena will be remanded as the main perpetrator for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, who went missing in 2010 in the Greater Buenos Aires district of Lanús.
Judge Juan Vitale considered it to be “proven” that Lagostena, 51, killed his girlfriend Erica Soriano, disposing of the body afterward, arguing that he had left the house.
Yesterday, Lagostena said to the court that he was “innocent” and was “going through an utter nightmare. The media has charged me and I am under arrest because of it.”
“To this day I still don’t understand why they say she’s dead,” he furthered, trying to convince the court of his belief that Erica’s body had not gone missing; therefore the court was unable to charge him with murder.
