Uribe’s agenda to continue as planned after bomb threat

Despite the fact that a bomb was found in the Gran Rex theatre, sources close to the event organization told the BuenosAiresHerald.com that Colombia’s ex President Álvaro Uribe “is in Buenos Aires and will carry on with his activities.”
Once the explosive artefact was deactivated, authorities announced that it had been scheduled to explode during Uribe’s speech.
A few hours after the “suspicious package” was found in the second floor of the theatre, the WOM Latam Leadership Symposium organizers met with the ex President, who decided to continue with the original agenda of the event. «He was notified about the situation and decided he will continue with the agenda as it was planned,» sources assured.
The organization also highlighted that security has been tightened at the Gran Rex as a preventive measure and also to avoid possible clashes with the anti-Uribe march that will be held at the Obelisk.
Sources also affirmed that the ex President was calmed and that he «will not make public statements over this issue.»
