A federal police officer was shot dead last night, before being robbed of his motorcycle. The incident occurred in the Buenos Aires province area of Merlo. Two people have been detained in connection to the murder, including one minor.
Sergio Marín, the policeman who was killed, worked for Station 44 in the Buenos Aires city neighbourhood of Versalles, police sources informed.
The incident occurred at 9.30 pm last night along Rawson street in Merlo, where the policeman was meeting up with his girlfriend. The officer was shot prior to his motorcycle being stolen by his attackers.
A 23-year-old and a teenager were arrested early this morning, accused of having killed the officer.
According to the investigators, the elder of the two detainees had just been released from prison in January after doing time for theft.
