Jorge Corach, brother of former Interior Minister Carlos Corach, committed suicide by shooting himself in the head right in the middle of Plaza Francia, in Recoleta, police sources confirmed.
The tragic incident took place moments after 1:30 pm, when the 70-year-old man, later identified as Jorge Eduardo Corach, was found dead in broad daylight, right in the middle of Plaza Francia.
People who were passing by alerted the police, who immediately showed up at the scene and noticed that the former minister’s brother was still alive.
According to preliminary reports, Jorge Corach shot himself in the head and was taken to the Fernández Hospital. He died around 4 pm.
His brother Carlos was a member of the Justicialist Party during the amendment of the Argentine Constitution in 1994 and was the Interior minister during the Menem administration from 1995 to 1999.
