Bartolomé Mitre street in Once is to reopen next week, after orders made by the City government following the problems caused by having the road blocked off during the Once rail accident.
The City Government announced today that Bartolomé Mitre street, closed since the tragic fire occurred inside República Cromañón nightclub in 2004, will be reopened to traffic, however only to taxis, buses and emergency vehicles.
Diego Santilli, city minister for Environment and Public Spaces confirmed the news today, adding in that the Mitre street at 3000 block would remain closed, in order to maintain the memorial in place for the victims of the fire. Santilli also added that an “S” statue is to be put up in Plaza Once.
