Security Minister Nilda Garré and newly appointed Security Secretary Sergio Berni
Former Buenos Aires province senator Sergio Berni took office as Security Secretary in a ceremony led by Security Minister Nilda Garré at the Ministry’s headquarters.
President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner had announced Berni’s appointment on Thursday and attributed it to “the need of increasing our abilities to respond to the demands that society has.”
Berni previously worked in the Social Development Ministry as Critical Assistance director. On December 2011 he was appointed as Vice-President of the Buenos Aires province Upper House.
