Lorenzetti: ‘It’s not good for society to see political leaders fighting each other’

The Head of the Supreme Court, Ricardo Lorenzetti, sent a clear message to politicians during the opening speech for the Judicial year. Based on the repercussions triggered after the Once Central Station train crash, the Justice said: “It’s not good for society to see political leaders fighting each other. Instead, we should witness a serious institutional dialogue.”
Likewise, Lorenzetti remarked that Argentines have “an extraordinary hability to not solve problems, but to pass them on to someone else.”
“There should be more balance between Powers. Judges must protect the weaks, and avoid any kind of power abuse as the strong ones do not need protection.”
In reference to the Once tragedy, the Justice said that those companies managing public transportation services “should take really care of the people’s lives”, and added, “The justice’s work and responsibility is not only to solve cases but also to avoid this kind of tragedies to happen.”
