In the midst of the pressure of the oil provinces over Oil Giant YPF to increase its production, the company ruled out the accusations and warned that it will press charges for the “arbitrary actions” of the local government.
The company stated in a communiqué that its rejects the accusations over “fail to fulfil the investment and production commitment in Chubut province,” while it questioned the “apparent arbitrary actions and discrimination” of the administration of Governor Martín Buzzi. Besides, it ratified its will to “contribute with the development and growth of the province.”
YPF answered to the 271 Decree issued on the first day of the month by Governor Buzzi, in which it accuses the company of alleged failure to fulfil its works in two oil fields: El Trébol-Escalante and Campamento Central-Cañadón Perdido.
The head of the company’s press department, Sergio Resumil, assured that “at the technical report issued along with the decree it is stated that in both areas there was an important increase in investment between 2007 and 2010; and also highlights that the proved and probable reserves have also climbed in the same period.”
Meanwhile, Francisco “Paco” Pérez’s government in Mendoza province decided to urge YPF to fulfil the investments at the Ceferino and Cerro Mollar Norte oil fields within the next 30 days.
