Subway transfer: ‘The national gov’t just wanted to get rid of a problem,’ Macri

Tensions between the national government and its Buenos City counterpart continue over the transfer of the subway system, after last week the heads of the two administrations, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and Mauricio Macri had exchanged responsibility for the service management.
Speaking to reporters this morning, Macri reaffirmed his upset towards the national government and said «they just wanted to get rid of a problem and give it to us.”
Likewise, the business tycoon complained again about the supposed lack of investment and the deterioration of trains and carriages, «It’s a serious issue. We are not going to be accomplices. We will not take a subway network that has a lack of investment that risks the people’s safety. I will not be an accomplice to get something where I cannot guarantee passenger’s security.”
To end, Macri remarked that “With such an old equipment on the subway, we are always exposed to any type of accident no matter how big the effort you make. I’ve been very worried since the first day for the status of the entire subway network as well for the evident lack of investment during the past ten years.”
