Autopsy reveals De Grazia died from asphyxia due to immersion

Relatives and friends arrived to the wake of model Jazmín de Grazia in Southern Greater Buenos Aires town of Temperley where the late model was originally from. The burial has been scheduled for today at 4.15pm at the Burzaco Cemetery.

The 27-year old model was found dead in her apartment located in Las Heras 1703 in the BA City neighborhood of Recoleta on Sunday. First police reports indicated there were traces of cocaine and tablets of benzodiazepine in the place.

Autopsy revealed the cause of death was «asphyxiation due to immersion in water.» Forensic experts told reporters that they fopund a lung edema as result of the asphyxiation the model must have experienced under water in the bathtub.

According to first reports her boyfriend found arrived to the apartment after having received a call from the model saying she was not feeling well. Once there, the boyfriend could not enter the apartment and had to call the doorman to break into the place. It was the when the young boy found De Grazia dead in the bathtub.
Preliminary police reports indicate that traces of cocaine and Clonazempam -a drug used for the short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety- were found in the place.

Forensic authorities suggest she drowned, while Judge Ernesto Botta and Prosecutor Justo Rovira have labeled the case as “suspicious death.”

Likewise, police authorities found a lipstick message written in the bathroom’s mirror that says «It’s not your fault that we have this ugly world». The message matches a line of Manu Chao’s song «Tears of gold».

De Grazia began her career in a modeling reality show called «Super M» in 2002, and later became a TV journalist after obtaining a minor in journalism in TEA School in 2009.
