‘Garré causes useless political disputes, and offers no solutions’ Vidal

Deputy Mayor for Buenos Aires, María Eugenia Vidal spoke today in response to National Security Minister Nilda Garré and said that “facing any security problems that affect the residents of the City of Buenos Airs, instead of offering solutions, she causes useless political disputes.”

“The national Security Ministry does not take responsibility for the continuous roadblacks, nor the selling of illegal goods along Florida Street, security in schools and hospitals, and nor does it take the responsibility to end the problems with the football hooligans after 8 years in government,” Vidal stated.

In a press communiqué, the deputy governor affirmed that “the issue of security in the City of Buenos Aires is by law, the responsibility of the National Government.”

“Even still, we created a new force, the Metropolitan Police, which is now becoming more present in different city neighbourhoods. I invite the national authorities to adopt a more collaborative attitude and predisposition to dialogue, and looking toward coming to consensus. What is at stake are people’s lives and the peace of mind of those who live and travel across the City of Buenos Aires,” concluded Vidal.
