Binner approaches Radical party after last year’s break-up

Former governor of Santa Fe, Hermes Binner, sent positive signals to the Radical party after the relationship breakdown during last year that prevented the Broad Progressive Front (FAP) and the UCR from running together to the presidential election.

Thus, Binner told reporters, “we want to have a common agreement”, and added, “But if it can’t be done at national level, our party is always open to minor agreements.”

Likewise, Binner insisted: “It is known that we have many sectors coming from the Radical party now working within the FAP, as are the cases of GEN leader Margarita Stolbizer, and Sandra Riobóo. So basically, what we want is to have a common agenda, because that is what we’ll do if we win the next presidential elections.”

UCR leader, Ricardo Alfonsín, echoed Binner’s statement, and came on stage to remark that he «never quit on the idea of working together to unite these two political forces.»
