Father, son flying over Dakar rally die in plane crash

A man and his 12-year old son died after their ultralight plane crashed while they were flying over the Dakar Rally in the coastal town of Orense, in the Buenos Aires province.
The accident took place yesterday a few minutes after noon when the aircraft, which was regularly used for fumigation, was overflying the area where the Dakar Rally was taking place.
The plane crashed near the entrance to the coastal town of Orense and both 37-year old Luis Marcelo Soldavini and his 12-year old son Tomás were instantly killed.
Despite efforts by first responders who immediately showed up at the place of the accident, there was nothing that could have been done to save them.
This is the second tragedy surrounding the Dakar Rally since its beginning on Sunday.
Also yesterday, Argentine Moto racer Jorge Martínez Boero was killed after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.
