Another woman was murdered by her husband after he hit her twice in the head with a sledgehammer in the Moreno district, police sources indicated.
A 60-year old man identified as Juan Carlos Winanovich used a sledgehammer to attack his 35-year old wife Elizabeth Medina for reasons that remain unclear.
The man hit her twice in the head with the object, killing her almost instantly. The man then tried to kill himself by slitting his throat.
A neighbour says that after hearing the woman’s screams he immediately called 911.
A patrol car soon arrivedm and when authorities broke into the house they found the lifeless body of the woman on the floor.
Winanovich had been gravely injured, for which he was urgently taken to the nearest hospital.
