The bill aimed at restricting foreign ownership of rural land in the country was cleared by the General Legislation, Constitutional and Agricultural committees of the Lower House and will likely be debated on the floor this week.
According to the announcement made earlier “the topic of discussion included the analysis of “the message and bill for the law protecting national property ownership and that of rural land, limiting the purchasing power for foreigners and other initiatives put forward by legislators over the subject.”
