Scioli supporters clashed with activists from the ultra-Kirchnerite La Cámpora youth organization over the occupation of a box during the inauguration ceremony of Buenos Aires governor Daniel Scioli.
The clash, which ended with two men hospitalized in La Plata’s San Martín polyclinic, began when a Kirchnerite group of men and women wearing blue clothes entered the third floor of the provincial Chamber of Deputies in order to sit in a special box from which they would watch the ceremony.
After realizing that all seats were taken, they tried entering a box that was fully occupied by Scioli supporters. When they began struggling, police officers who had been assigned to protect them joined the fight and the whole kerfuffle ended in a scandal.
Two men were injured in the incident.
According to witnesses, a Kirchnerite was wounded after apparently being hit in the head with a police baton. At the same time, a Scioli supporter twisted his wrist and took a strong punch to the shoulder.
The identities of both men, aged 37 and 39, were not immediately released.
