Re-elect governor of Buenos Aires Province Daniel Scioli was sworn in along with Deputy Governor, Gabriel Mariotto, in a massive ceremony held at the BA Province Legislature in La Plata.
The swearing-in ceremony started at 11:30am when Mariotto took oath to then sworn in Scioli to his second term as provincial Governor.
Scioli took a minute to pay homage to Deputy Governor Alberto Balestrini, who is recovering from a brain stroke suffered in April 2010 that retired him from politics as he remains hospitalized.
“Alberto, this is also particularly yours, because you are such an important part of this national project that started with late President Néstor Carlos Kirchner.”
Likewise, Scioli remembered the achievements of his first term, and praised the joint efforts made with the national government.
«During the past four years, the unployment rate within the BA province was the lowest since the recovery of democracy in 1983. and I’m here to guarantee and protect the work of every citizen of the province.»
«We are going to build 40 new industrial neighbourhoods in the nex four years. Plus, we are also seeking to tighten ties with our Latin American trade partners.»
Likewise, Scioli ratified his «commitment to guarantee the safety of the BA province citizens.»
Afterwards, both Scioli and Mariotto sworn in the new provincial cabinet, which includes Silvia Batakis (Economy Minister); Silvina Gvirtz (Education and Culture Minister); Cristina Alvarez de Rodríguez -former Infraestructure minister now Provincial Government Ministry.
Likewise, Martín Ferré –former Production Minister- was sworn in as Social Development Ministry; former Bahía Blanca’s mayor Cristian Breitenstein as Production Minister; while former Cañuelas Mayor Gustavo Arrieta took oath as new BA Agricultural Affairs Minister.
Furthermore, Alejandro Arlía (former provincial Economy Minister) was sworn in as Infraestructure Minister; Ricardo Casal as Security and Justice Minister; Oscar Cuartango, who continues as Labour Minister also took oath along with Alejandro Collia who remains as Health Minister; and Alberto Pérez who continues as Chief of Staff.
Luciano Di Gresia was sworn in as head of the Provincial General Secretariat; as well Martín Di Bella who continues leading the BA Province Tax Collection Agency (ARBA), Gustavo Marangoni who remains as head of the BA Province Bank.
In addition, Juan Courel was sworn in as new head of the Public Communications Secretariat; along with Sara Derotier de Cobacho who continues as Human Rights Secretary General.
