The measure was announced by Economy and Agriculture ministers Amado Boudou and Julián Domínguez, as well as Domestic Trade Secretary, Guillermo Moreno during a press conference held at the Economy Ministry this morning.
According to estimates, exports measures for the cereal in the precious period hit 11.1 million tons, which implies a record rate for wheat exports between 2010 and 2011.
“The President’s decision is to raise the limit by 2.7 million tons of wheat grain,” stated Domínguez during the conference.
In addition, Domínguez guaranteed that, like every year, reserves of 6.5 million tons of wheat must be kept for internal consumption.
