Thanksgiving in BA: Where to have turkey tonight

An eye for pumpkin pie? Buenos Aires does thanksgiving.
Didn’t find a turkey in Jumbo? Or perhaps turning on your oven in the heat was a problematic prospect. Whichever way, if you wish to still celebrate Thanksgiving, a fair amount of expat bars and restaurants are offering tasty turkey dinner on their menus today.

As per, Kansas Bar and Grill, will be serving traditional turkey with all the trimmings throughout the day. Although Buenos Aires average dinner time doesn’t normally start until later, this yearly event gets busy fast, so it’s advisable to head down early to avoid disappointment. Recoleta’s Casabar will be serving Thanksgiving dinner only today, with lighter options such as salads and turkey sandwiches for those who fancy. Food is available until they have no more. American football will also be being shown. (Rodríguez Peña 1150, Recoleta)

The American Club, which hosts a Thanksgiving dinner every year, is slightly pricier than most places, but does offer the full selection of holiday food. Prior booking is necessary. (Viamonte 1133, 10th Floor)

A favourite amongst the American community in Buenos Aires, the Alamo Bar in Recoleta is also offering a slap-up Thanksgiving meal, from lunchtime until late and with American football on the side. (Uruguay 1175, Recoleta)

Down in Palermo, popular bar Magdalena’s Party is serving thanksgiving dinner today with all the trimmings, including the promise of cranberry relish. Delicious homemade desserts are also up for grabs. There are two sittings, one at 8 pm and the other at 10 pm. It’s advisable to book beforehand. (Thames 1795, Palermo).
