Tension rose during the Radical Party’s (UCR) Convention after a strong discussion led to a pushing between Senator Gerardo Morales and historical leader Leopoldo Moreau. Also in the encounter, Ricardo Alfonsín admitted that the accord with Francisco de Narváez «was a mistake.»
The members of the Radical Party met in Vicente López district to debate the possibility of making amendments in the bloc’s charter in order to allow the direct vote in authorities’ election.
During the meeting, a sector of the bloc blasted Ricardo Alfonsín’s alliance with Francisco de Narváez before the October 23 presidential eleciton.
The encounter began with Moreau’s long speech about a “renovation” in the UCR and questioned the electoral accord sealed between Alfonsín and de Narváez.
Afterwards, Morales went on the stage and said he took care of the party when nobody wanted to after the election in which Leopoldo Moreau received only 2 percent of the votes.
This triggered a reaction in the Buenos Aires province leader, who came closer to the stage and began insulting Morales. This action led to a strong pushing between them.
