An 11-year old boy who remained hospitalized in Junín since last week after the van he was riding in collided head-on with a truck, died on Thursday due to the serious injuries he sustained during the accident. Eight other people had also died as a result of the crash.
Authorities investigating the case said his death was a direct result of the grave injuries he sustained last November 3rd on National Route 7, near Chacabuco.
The number of fatal victims in the accident has now risen to nine, since it was six kids and three adults who died when the van, carrying a group of children from the Banderaló sports club collided head-on with a truck carrying metal sheets.
