CFK offers condolences to Clinton after learning of her mother’s passing

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner sent a letter offering her deepest sympathies to the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after learning that her mother, Dorothy Rodham, had passed away on Tuesday.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of your mother, Dorothy Rodham. I know there are no words of comfort for whenever we lose someone we love, but I am sure that your strength and determination will help you carry on,” the letter sent by the President said.

“I would like to join you and your family in this moment, and send you my condolences on behalf of the Argentine Government and the Argentina people,” the letter finishes.

Only a few days ago, Clinton had called President Fernández de Kirchner in order to congratulate her on her October 23rd reelection.

During that call, Hillary called for both governments to “renew their commitment to a strong, successful relationship,” after a series of diplomatic spats this year.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to meet with Fernández de Kirchner this Friday in Cannes while they’re both attending to the G20 Summit.
