Injury-plagued David Nalbandian was forced to pull out of the Stockholm Masters on Friday and handed Argentina a Davis Cup final headache.
Nalbandian suffered a thigh injury and was unable to take to the court for his quarterfinal against America’s James Blake.
«I felt tension in the hamstring during the match yesterday (a 6-1, 6-1 win over Croatia’s Ivan Dodig). I saw the doctor and took treament. I tried to warm up but it was no use,» said Nalbandian.
«It’s still painful and I didn’t think that I could play, I just couldnt recover. I have had injuries for a lot of the season. It’s really tough right now.»
Argentina, who have never won the Davis Cup, tackle Spain in the final in Sevilla from December 2-4.
