Item found in home of suspect’s mother-in-law ‘belongs to Candela’

The mother of murdered 11-year old Candela Rodríguez, Carola Labrador, identified a small flask of nail polish found at the home of suspect Hugo Bermúdez’s mother-in-law, assuring it belonged to her daughter.
Labrador’s lawyer, Fernando Burlando, confirmed that she had identified “an item,” but he refused to provide any further details.
However, a source close to the authorities later assured that it was a small flask of nail polich that the young girl used to carry with her.
Labrador, as well as the girl’s father, Alfredo Laurelio Rodríguez, were shown the item this morning.
After his statements, Burlando also informed that, after raiding the home where the murder suspect was arrested, authorities “had managed to find a partially burned object that had belonged to Candela.”
After being asked about the place where the object was found, Burlando explained that it had been located inside the property, “right next to some ashes that we believe is where Candela’s clothes were burned.”
A few days ago, several burned clothes were seized by forensic authorities at the home of Bermúdez’s mother-in-law, located on Cellini 4085, in Villa Tesei.
