Railway unionists provide testimony

Unión Ferroviarias’ former general secretary, Rubén Sobrero, and the other four accused of the burning of Sarmiento railway cars in May this year were taken early this morning to federal court in San Martín to provide testimony.
The case is in charge of Federal Judge, Juan Manuel Yalj, who justified the arrests and said that Sobrero “is most likely to remain arrested and not released.”
The judge had said that Sobrero was arrested after being charged with being the “organizer of an illicit association” and for committing a «wilful criminal offence.»
Likewise, political groups and railway union members are expected to rally nearby the courts of San Martín, while a march is planned for 4.30 pm from the national Congress to the Plaza de Mayo to demand Sobrero’s release.
Meanwyhile, Juan Carlos Giordano, candidate for national deputy for the Left Front and Sobrero’s lawyer, said this morning that there’s “no evidence” to charge the his client.
